Something I just remembered:
I worked pretty hard at the time to buy her the wedding ring, it wasn’t a lot compared to some but it took a lot to buy it. It was pretty simple, but she seemed happy with it…….. (go ahead and guess where this goes).
We were at the home of Cindy Lamb, and we had some kind of argument about something. In a total 4 year old melt down she takes off her wedding ring and throws it into the yard. I told her then and there she would have to find it that I would not buy her another one in my lifetime. She never found it, and I never bought her another one.
Years later I found a native american road-side seller that had a butterfly necklace, hand made silver and black onyx. I bought it for her. (it was not cheap). She ended up breaking the chain while on the toilet and flushed it, as far as I know it is still in that RV tank out there.
My mother had good taste, and had a LOT of expensive jewelry. She wanted me to give her some of the really expensive jewelry. I refused and it is still in my safe.
That ring I worked so hard for, just like our wedding vows and commitment to each other – for her, was disposable.
